Shohratgarh is a tehsil and nagar panchayat in Siddharthnagar district within Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and adjacent to Nepal.

As of 2001[update], the India census has stated that the population of Shohratgarh is 8,336.[1] Males constitute about 52 percent of the total population and females 48 percent. The literacy rate of Shohratgarh is about 60 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent. Male literacy is 67 percent, and female literacy is 51 percent. In Shohratgarh, 17 percent of the population is under six years of age.
Shohratgarh railway station (station code–SOT) is located on the way to Gorakhpur from Gonda via loop line (meter gauge) of Indian Railway and Buddhist circuit road, the transport facility of Uttar Pradesh. The Gorakhpur - Gonda loop line is now under the process of conversion to broad gauge.
Shohratgarh is well known for its educational facilities. It has Shiva Pati Intermediate College for Education till 10+2 having streams as Literature, Science (Maths and Biology in 10+2), Agriculture etc. The town has Shiva Pati Post Graduate College (UP Government aided) for Graduation and PG having different streams as Literature, Maths and Bio. PG College also offers B.Ed. course.
In Shohratgarh city, there two main CBS public Centre banks.
Shohratgarh Environmental Society (SES) is a well-known organization located in the town that advocates for environmental protection.
