Shivanagar is a village development committee in Kapilvastu District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3,400 people living in 551 individual households.[1]

The village name arose after, the name Mr. Shiv Prasad Rajouria, one of the most honourable man of the whole district. The village development community consists of nine villages. Mr. Shiv Prasad Rajouria's son; Mr. Hari Narain Rajouria was the person who made known of the district by his social deeds to the whole nation. He was elected four times in the parliament of Nepal. Fortunately, he also became Minster every time elected. The Name Rajouria was since then being attached to shivnagar-Now because of his good deeds-every rajouria is asked about the relation to him when introduced. 

Shiva nagar

The village is named after Mr. Shiv Prasad Rajouria, who was one of the most honourable men of Kapilvastu district during his time (early-and-mid-20th century). Rajouria was known for his leadership, community work and charity. Rajouria left behind a large family that even today is well known in Kapilvastu. The village development community consists of 9 villages.
