Shirur or Shiroor is a village in Udupi district (previously South Canara) in the Indian state of Karnataka. The national highway number 17( NH-17 ) connecting Panvel (Near Mumbai) to Eranakulam passes through this village. Shiroor lies to north of Byndoor town ,It has Shiroor bazaar and Shiroor market, with a fish market, which are within one km from each other.

Shiroor is a part of Konkan Railway with local railway station. It has its own history of Kotemane, Sri Durgambika temple, Pete Venkataramana temple, 'old bridge (1825)(Sankadagundi'), Karikatte, a beautiful Seashore, with small harbour, near Ganapati temle, 8 km from NH17 Near by Tudalli village Sri. MahaVishnu Temple, A beautiful Abbe Fall of westran ghats of sahyadri mountain range.

Shiroor has improved leaps and bounds. A new school, Green Valley National School was set up, and subsequently Green Valley College was also set up in 2007.

Shiroor is also the name of another village near Hiryadka.It is at seven kilometre from Hiryadka in Udupi district. Shiroor matha of one of the eight Mutts belonging to the Dvaita school of Hindu philosophy, founded by Sri Madhvacharya is at this place. The Shiroor matha lies on the banks of river Swarna.
