Rocky Island, South China Sea

Rocky Island (simplified Chinese: 石岛; traditional Chinese: 石島; pinyin: Shí Dǎo; literally "stone island"; Vietnamese: Đá Tháp) is one of the islands of Paracel Islands in South China Sea. It is under the administration of the People's Republic of China, and guarded by the PLA Navy. Vietnam also claims sovereignty of this island.

The island is connected to Woody Island by a road that is about 1 km in length. A signal intelligence station was built there in 1995, mainly because it has the highest point (14 m) among the Paracel Islands.
