Shayan Chowdhury

Shayan Chowdhury (Bengali: শায়ান চৌধুরী), better known as Arnob, is a Bangladeshi indie musician. Coming from a musical family - his uncle Tapan Chowdhury is also a singer - Arnob completed his school at Patha Bhavana and MFA in Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan.

Arnab is a member of the band Bangla. In addition, he has released four solo albums and also worked with Prayer Hall which is basically a platform for upcoming talented musicians. The debut album as a solo artist was Chaina Bhabish, followed by Hok Kolorob.[1] His third album is called Doob. The fourth album of even more sophisticated melodies was called Rod bolecheh hobe. Hok Kolorob was a compilation of songs he and his friends had written during their years in Santiniketan. A combination of poetic lyrics and sophisticated melodies has earned Arnob a large fan base among Bangladesh's music listeners. He has also composed the music for Sahana Bajpaie's Rabindra Sangeet album Notun Kore Pabo Bolay and for Krishnokoli's album of original songs titled Surje Badhi Basha. He also contributes to the theme songs and advertisements on Bangla satellite channels (Bandhan, Flat no 40, Sporshe'r Baire). On August 11, 2009 his world tour concert album released named 'Arnob and friends live'.[2]

He was also the music director of the bangla film Monpura,'Aaha!','Jaago' and 'Dip Nevar Age' and . The music tracks of the film Monpura gained widespread popularity in Bangladesh.[3]
