Shannon Region

The Shannon Region is an unofficial region in the western part of Ireland. The region includes Limerick City and County, County Clare, North Tipperary, North Kerry and parts of southwest Offaly. These areas are also known as Ireland's Mid-West Region. Some state agencies are loosely based around the region, for example, Shannon Development and HSE Mid-west. Limerick is the largest city in the region and is situated at the centre of the region. Visitor attractions include the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Castle.[1] It is not a NUTS region.
