Early career

Prior to his notoriety from the BMEzine websites, Shannon developed the first online casino for Warren B. Eugene, building on their CTI based casino systems. He was also the head developer for SciFAX, Canon fax-computer integration tool allowing stand-alone fax machines to act as printers, scanners, and automated units, a technology which foreshadowed and was ultimately replaced by the fax modem. As a teen he released one of the first published VGA games (Alien Worlds), and developed one of the few hardware-damaging trojans which worked by initiating a feedback loop in SoundBlaster hardware.

BMEzine

Larratt founded BMEzine in 1994.[1] In 2002 he was the host of the first of several BME Pain Olympics, and later edited and released the video of the same name that went viral. There are conflicting testimonies as to whether the video was real or spoofed.

In September 2007, there were issues over the ownership of BMEzine. Larratt claimed to be locked out of BMEzine, IAM, and his personal blog, Zentastic.[2] In the time between the lock out and his return, the alternate site bodytwo.com was used. In May 2008 Laratt posted on BME's modblog that he would no longer be working at BMEzine and that ownership of BMEzine would be transferred to Rachel Larratt.[3][4]

Personal life and other projects

Shannon currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian citizen.
