"The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience" Are an established Scottish Ceilidh band having toured around the world: playing for high energy dances from Bangkok to Bogotá, Melbourne to Moscow. The bands are frequent guests of St. Andrews Societies and Caledonian Societies around the globe as well as being ever-popular at home. They are regularly guests at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, the largest street party in the world, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The band have toured all over the highlands and islands, travelled south to England, Ireland and Wales, even playing for the wedding of leading folkies John McCusker and Kate Rusby in Huddersfield.
"Shandrix" is usually a five piece group consisting of box, fiddle, drums, bass and guitar, but often perform in smaller numbers. They can sometimes swell to an eight piece, as was the case at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival sell-out gig in the Acoustic Music Centre.
The long awaited debut ‘Shandrix’ album, Electric Landlady was released in early 2007 under the Brechin All Records label.
