Middle school

In 2009, the 8th grade was ranked 57th out of 141 western Pennsylvania middle schools based on three years of student academic achievement in PSSAs in: reading, math writing and one year of science.[1] (Includes schools in: Allegheny County, Beaver County, Butler County, Fayette County, Westmoreland County, and Washington County

Sports

Shaler's teams are all nicknamed "The Titans."

Shaler athletics compete in the WPIAL/PIAA AAAA/AAA divisions depending on sport.

Shaler's biggest rival is the neighboring North Allegheny Tigers and North Hills Indians, who also compete in the same section.

Shaler's softball team took home numerous PIAA and WPIAL titles from 2000-2009.
