Shadnagar is a town, assembly constituency in Mahabubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[3] Shadnagar had a population of 37,529. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Shadnagar has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 49%. In Shadnagar, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
During 1869-1911, under 6th Nizam Mahboo Ali Khan, Shadnagar was formed. Maharaja Krishnan Prasad, who belongs to Janampeta, was ruling under the 6th Nizam.
Because of good transportation systems (Railway station and NH-7) there are small-scale industries in Kothur industrial area. The newly-developing industrial area is near Kondurg.
