Sgorio

Sgorio is a Welsh football television programme broadcast in Wales on S4C and produced by Rondo Media. It is currently presented by Nic Parry (Although sometimes presented by Morgan Jones or Alun Jones). It is broadcast on Monday evenings and specialised in highlighted coverage of European football particularly in the Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and German Bundesliga premier leagues.

Sgorio was first aired in 1988 and for the first decade or so included Rallying and other minority sports. For the past 10 years or so however it has concentrated solely on football.

The success of Sgorio, also extended outside Wales as avid English football fans, before cable or satellite television services, attempted to pick up S4C on their aerials just so they could watch the international football games being shown on Sgorio. The popularity of the show led Channel 4 to creating their own international football show in 1992.

Sgorio regularly used the famous Italian football cultural line "Golaccio!".

On 14 December 2009, an edition of Sgorio got the lowest rating in S4C's history, when it recorded a 'zero rating' (fewer than 2,500 viewers), according to the Broadcasters Audience Research Board (BARB).[1]
