Seyan (also spelt Sian in English Transliteration)(اردو میں سیان ) is a North Indian Punjabi surname of a [Khatri]/[Rajput] (Ramgarhia) group.
Today, the majority of Seyan families are typically Jatt Sikhs. The gotra is attributed to Musapur Village in Punjab and believed to originate from Baba Sundar Das.
In Pakistan, historically Sians have been confined to Gujranwala, Sialkot district in which they inhabit some villages. Two brothers, Jora Singh and Chora Singh, accepted Islam about 190 years ago and all Sians in Pakistan are descendants of Jora and Chora.
