Severa is a professional services automation (PSA) tool used to manage projects, customers, sales, time tracking and billing. Severa is also known as business software for Project Management (PM), Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
Accessed online through the Web, Severa is a hosted solution, Software as a service (SaaS), Cloud computing or software on-demand, where the software and data are maintained in a secure, remote server and available through a computer’s web browser from anywhere at anytime.[1]
Since there is no need to download and install software[2] Severa can be seen as easy to deploy. Over 6,000 companies around the world use Severa to handle over 170,000 projects, 280,000 invoices and 13 million work hours.[3]
Severa is used by small to medium sized businesses,[4] and optimized for service-based organizations such as PR, advertising, design, IT, engineering, law and architecture firms.
Severa has been the recipient of many awards including the Deloitte Technology Fast 50[5] and the Red Herring Global Finalist in 2008[6].

Severa is scalable with three editions, Professional, Business and Enterprise, designed to meet customer needs based on the company size, desired features and support options. Add-on features are available, and can be tested during the free trial period.
Severa has developed a web service API which allows customers to share data between Severa and other software applications.
The user interface is currently available in English, Finnish, German, Swedish, Norwegian and Dutch.
Invoices can be created in 12 languages, including English, Finnish, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian.
Severa was founded in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 2004 by Ari-Pekka Salovaara and Jari Kärkkäinen, graduates of the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Department of Computer Sciences.
Severa grew at a staggering 1500% over five years to become the premier PSA tool in Finland. In the summer of 2010 Severa was acquired by Visma. Severa continues to grow and develop for the benefit of its customers, and now has offices in Lappeenranta, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.
