seekda is an Austrian spin-off company[1] that specializes in developing and marketing Web Services oriented products, particularly a Web based search engine allowing to locate public Web Services and innovative IT solutions for the eTourism sector.
seekda has been built on the results of the European Union funded DIP[2], and Austrian FIT-IT (German: Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH) RW2[3] projects. The company is itself a research spin-off of the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI Innsbruck) at the University of Innsbruck. The corporate headquarters of seekda is located in Innsbruck, Austria.
The company developed the first global Web Service Search Engine based on focused crawling[4], allowing access to publicly available Web Services. seekda constantly crawls the Web for new Web Services and currently indexes and daily monitors over 27K public Web Services from more than 7K providers[5]. Company is launching its business product based on services for e-tourism industry: (1) Switch system providing with one profile the access to hundreds of hotels' room distribution channels and (2) Internet Booking Engine, which can be integrated with hotels' websites and is hosted as SaaS [6].
