Sculpteo
Sculpteo is a French company that specializes in 3D printing. Sculpteo offers an online 3D printing service,[1] using rapid prototyping and a manufacturing process[2] involving laser sintering or stereo lithography.[3] The company was founded in June 2009 by Eric Carreel, co-founder of Inventel,[4] which was acquired by Technicolor in 2005 [5] and Withings, Clement Moreau [6] and Jacques Lewiner. Sculpteo’s online 3D printing service is available mainly in Europe and North America.[7]
Purpose
Sculpteo offers a 3D printing service which is rapid and accessible online.[8] Starting with a 3D file, Sculpteo creates real objects such as: interior decorations, characters, robots, miniatures, models…[9] Sculpteo’s community page allows users to find 3D designs,[10] to share models, to transfer 3D designs, and to create the real 3D versions.[11][12]

- In January 2011, Sculpteo launched their online 3D printing service to the public
[14]: the ability to make your own avatar[15][16] starting with simple 2D photos which are then modeled in 3D. .[17]
- In March 2011, Sculpteo launched Pro.Sculpteo an online 3D printing service for professionals.[18]
- In June 2011, Sculpteo and 3DVIA announced that they had established a direct printing service provided by Sculpteo via the 3Dvia portal.[19][20]
- In October 2011, Sculpteo launched a 3D silver printing service using Sculpteo's silver process™.[21]
