Journalism

Gerhardt has written for quite a few website and publications over the years. In 1996 he started as a freelance contributor to The Vault.[4] From there he started writing numerous tournament reports for The Dojo, at the time the largest Magic:The Gathering strategy site in the world. After moving into the world of Pokemon, he was profiled in the first ever Beckett Pokemon magazine, and then asked to write several freelance articles after that. In 1999 he joined up with Pojo.com, where he became a regular featured writer and editor until 2002, and even occasionally contributed after that. During that time he also worked on a number of Pojo print magazine titles, with bylines in over two dozen publications. He also briefly freelanced for TCGPlayer.com and contributed an article for their short-lived print magazine.

After TCGs

In 2009, after leaving Shuffle & Cut Games, Gerhardt accepted a position working for The Walt Disney Company. Having been a Disney enthusiast for most of his life, this was the fulfillment of a lifelong goal. He is also a certified Notary Public in the state of California.

Personal life

Gerhardt attended O.H. Cooper High School from 1990-1994. From there he attended McMurry University from 1994-1997. He married Christine J (Tigges) Gerhardt in 2001, whom he met while working for Pojo.com. They divorced in 2010, citing irreconcilble differences. In his off time, he enjoys playing kickball, known to play in several leagues and has been a referee at the World Adult Kickball Association World Championships (Founder's Cup[5]) in 2010. He is also an occasional World of Warcraft player. In 2003, he was also a contestant on The Price Is Right[6]
