Panakkad Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal was an Islamic qazi from Kerala, India. He was the qadi of Wayanad.[1] He was the chairman of the Kerala Waqf Board.[2] He was the president of the Sunni Yuvajana Sangham.[3]
Panakkad Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal was the vice president of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama. He was the president of DARUL HUDA ISLAMIC University from 1994 till his death. He also served as Court member of Aligarh Muslim University. He is the second son of Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal and brother of the Indian Union Muslim League former president late Panakkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal. Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal is appointed as qadi of Wynad district. Thangal was appointed as qadi of many local mahals in Kerala and was the Chairman of Kerala Waqf Board. He was an influential personality on Kerala Muslims.
Sayyid Umer Ali Shihab Thangal died on 3 July, 2008 at Malappuram.[4][5]
