Sanxay is a commune in the Vienne department in the Poitou-Charentes region in western France.
Sanxay is a beautiful little village, with splendid Roman remains. However, there is a plaque on the church wall, suggesting that, during the 1939/45 war, it narrowly avoided a massacre of villagers similar to the one which took place in Oradour. Any further information about this event would be appreciated.
