The ASD Santarcangelo, sports association founded in 1926, is the reality most followed football in the area of Santarcangelo di Romagna, the team found a good following among local audiences, who follows him in the transfer.
In the championship of Serie D in the season 2009/10, the Santarcangelo was placed in fifth position.
In the season 2010-11, from Serie D group F promoted to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione.
Following thorough analysis by the founders of SquadraMia (a non-profit Sports Association that aims for the purpose of purchasing and managing, including via the web, a team of Italian football, on the basis of Ebbsfleet United FC), between the managers of other teams who was arrived at the final stage of evaluation, the ASD Santarcangelo was chosen as the ideal team for the project and is still subject to "final vote" on the part of members-Presidents.
On 23 July 2009, the ASD Santarcangelo was chosen by the founders of SquadraMia as a team on which to base the project, with 96.4% of preferences (vote conducted by approximately 70% of those entitled to vote). In a few day, therefore, the negotiation will be terminated with the acquisition by the association of the majority shares of the company, or a portion of the minority shares and the right of option on the remainder.
The society uses yellow and blue, that appear also in the shield; as team's symbol they have the Romagna's cock.
The stadium where the team plays home matches, is dedicated to the memory of Valentino Mazzola. Taking into account all sectors, has a capacity of 3000 seats; the size of the field are 65m x 105m.
