Sandra Martinovic (born October 4, 1979 in Brcko, BiH) is a professional tennis player. Her best WTA ranking was 187 on July 28, 2008 and her best double ranking 199 on April 28, 2008

She has continuously improved her ranking up to 187 in 2008 when she reached 3rd round in qualifications of French Open and also played qualifications at Wimbledon and US Open the same year. In her career she has won 13 singles and 10 doubles titles. In 2006 she was acknowledged "on of the most successful players" on the European Circuit by Tennis Europe, the sanctioning body of European women's tournament of the ITF Women's Circuit.

Early life

Martinovic is the daugther of Ivo and Mara Martinovic and moved From Bosnia i Herzegowina to Austria at the age of 12 where she practised in Hermagor, Austria. At the age of 17 she won her first WTA points and after finishing school she moved to Germany to become a professional tennis player.

Personal life

Martinovic is interested in all aspects of psychology, reading and kite surfing. Her favourite authors are Frank Schätzing, David Baldacci and Gaby Hauptmann.
