The Samur languages (also called Nuclear Lezgic) are the principal component of the Lezgic branch of the Northeast Caucasian languages.^[1] Lezgian and Tabasaran are literary languages.

Internal branching

Eastern Samur
- Udi – 5700 speakers
- Lezgi–Aghul–Tabasaran^[1]
  - Lezgian – 450,000 speakers
  - Aghul – 28,300 speakers
  - Tabasaran – 128,900 speakers
Southern Samur
- Kryts – 6000 speakers in 1975
- Budukh – 1000 speakers
Western Samur
- Rutul – 20,000 speakers
- Tsakhur – 20,073 speakers
