Sam Shearon (born March 15, 1978) also known under the pseudonym ‘Mister-Sam’ is a dark-artist born in Liverpool, England in the United Kingdom.
Specialising in horror and science-fiction, his work often includes elements inspired by ancient cultures, the occult, industrial/art/revolution-eras and the supernatural. When it comes to creating visions from the darker side of life, Sam’s work pulls no punches and is often labelled as ‘Dark Surrealism’, ‘Dark Steampunk’ and also ‘The Art of Darkness’.

Sam Shearon studied at the University of Leeds in the College of Art & Design, West Yorkshire, England. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in 2000 for Visual Communication. Shortly after, he went on to become a qualified Art teacher gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Huddersfield University. His first solo exhibition entitled ‘A Walk On the Darkside’, boasted forty five pieces of his original artwork including 6-foot-tall (1.8 m) demonic statues, biomechanical monsters and giant canvas’ depicting images of horror and the macabre. The exhibition was featured in various National newspapers including The Daily Telegraph[1] as well as BBC Radio ONE [2] and live interviews on BBC Radio Leeds North - resulting in the show being extended to six weeks due to popular demand. The show had its own share of disapproval also in the form of protest and boycott attempts due to the nature and subject matter of his work involving the 'murder' and disembowelment of children's toys as well as the use of real animal bones mixed with various parts of machinery.
His work has been described by the British press as 'bizarre' The Telegraph,[3] 'Grotesque' The Evening Gazette,[4] 'Gruesome' The Daily Star[5] and 'Groundbreaking' Lancashire Today Magazine [6] as well as 'disturbing', 'surreal', 'controversial' The Evening Gazette[7] and 'Too Scary For Children' Gazette.[8] Shearon is known for his work involved in the field of Cryptozoology, most notably for compiling artists impressions, of the Beast of Lytham,[9] from eye witness accounts. Shearon's Cryptozoological art[10] was on display at the 2005 Weird Weekend,[11] an annual conference at the Centre for Fortean Zoology. His work can be found in publications of the Fortean Times, Paranormal Magazine as well as the cover artwork for IDW Comics for the ANGEL[12] series, and also horror magazine Fangoria's Trinity of Terrors[13] Halloween weekend cover art for the official collectors programme to the event.
Sam Shearon or ‘Mister-Sam’ has created Dark-Artwork for a variety of rock and metal music related clients including Jason Charles Miller, Godhead: Edge of the World, Keith Caputo, Ryan Oldcastle, HIM, Shane Gibson's 'stOrk' featuring Thomas Lang, A Pale Horse Named Death, Iron Maiden, Fear Factory, Rammstein, Biohazard, Black Water Rising, and Rob Zombie. Sam’s dark artwork can also be found in the form of graphics on the bodies of guitars as well as a number of other music related formats where his work can be seen on various types of musical equipment and apparel including carry cases, drum skins and merchandise.
