Saint-Julien-de-Concelles is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.
St Julien de Concelles is also known for being the founding town of the now very popular beurre blanc sauce. It was first discovered in a small restaurant on the banks of the river Loire.
Along with being well known for the beurre blanc sauce, St Julien de concelles is also one of France's main growers of the Mache (lambs lettuce). Its flat and sandy land provides a great surface for Mache, leeks and some flowers.
As well as growing vegetables, St Julien de Concelles also grows on its hills the grapes that produce the local wines, both Muscadet and Gros plant.
Near to the centre of the town, St Julien de Concelles has a very large lake, known as the plan d'eau chene. The lake offers sailing, fishing, various sports and beautiful scenery for walking. This is a great area for nature lovers.
