Sahjanwa is a town and a nagar panchayat in Gorakhpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its is a developing industrial area in name of GIDA. There are many factories in GIDA including Parle, ARP, powerlooms, plywood,only Jute mill in Uttar Pradesh etc.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Sahjanwa had a population of 25,091. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Sahjanwa has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 43%. In Sahjanwa, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age. Being the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh, Bhojpuri is spoken. In early 1990s most of the young people moved to nearby metropolitan cities where they had contacts to earn their livelihood.On 1989 one of the social and well known person Mr.I P N Singh(Well Known Socal person) establish a institution name RUDRA DHEERAJ PRAKCHIAN SAMITI In Memory of Lt RUDRA PRATAP SINGH,and this did very good job He establish Technical organization (called I.T.I.)Rudra Dheeraj ITI, it is affiliated by ministry of employment Indian Gov. it Is Tran more than 5000 student in different skills and provide them placement But now the employment situation has improved by introduction of new government policies & frameworks. Sahjanwa's oldest photocopy shop Pavan Photo Copiers has its own crage since last 22 years for best service. Deepak Kasth Udhyog is one of the oldest furniture shops in the town, serving for more than 25 years, Owner of this shop Ishwar Chandra Singh (Puttu Singh) ji is a well known social worker and political leader.Mr. Amrendra Bahadur Singh and Mr. Manish Kumar Gupta "The extra ordinary person in the field of technical education in U.P." also belong to this town.

Transport

Sahjanwa is also having the Railway Station with good connectivity with Lucknow & Gorakhpur, & also touching the National Heighway 28 so good connectiivity by Bus too.
