Safipur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Unnao district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The town's name is derived from the dervesh Makhdum Shah Safi who is buried inside a big Dargah.

As of 2001[update] India census[1], Safipur had a population of 22,402. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. . In Safipur, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Safipur Railway station connects to Unnao and Hardoi/Balamau towns. This rail line was uprooted by the British during emergency requirements of iron during World War II, was laid back again in 1957.Main road of safipur is called as hardoi-unnao road.Buses and Jeeps ply from the Bus Stand near Court (Safipur Tahseel).there are both private as well as public buses running.State transport buses connects safipur with unnao,kanpur,hardoi,shahjahanpur and delhi.Privately owned buses ply between unnao and hardoi. Miyanganj road,pariyar road,pikhi road,saleend road are some of the roads those connect safipur with its neighbouring towns and villages.Tempos,tangas and jeeps ply on these roads.

safipur is well connected with both road and rail service to both lucknow and kanpur..Unnao(27 KM), Kanpur(45 KM), Lucknow( 71 KM), Hardoi(84 KM), Bangarmau(22 KM), Chakalwanshi(9 KM), Fatehpur Chaurasi(10 KM), Rasulabad(15 KM), Pariyar(12 km), Miyaganj (16 KM), Asiwan(15), balamau (72 KM) via train, Raibarelly, Allahabad(227 KM), Kannauj.

There are large mango orchards in and around safipur.It is one of the highest producer of mangoes.Safipur produces top quality mangoes (chausa,dussehri,lakhnowwa) and many people are dependant on mango cultivation... Mangoes are exported to many districts of uttar pradesh as well as to delhi and punjab.
