Sofasa

Sofasa (Founded in 1970) is an automobile company in Colombia that assembles imported Renault, Toyota and Delta Daihatsu vehicles. The company then exports to the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) and supplies the national market of automobiles in Colombia.

History

SOFASA started assembling cars from the French company Renault by introducing the Renault 4 and later the Renault 6 for passenger and taxicab service in 1970. Three years later SOFASA assembles the Renault 12 producing a total of 1,550 units that year. In 1975 launches a newer version of the Renault 4 with pick up features. It also introduces other two models with five variants.[1]
