Rowan Dartington is an independent portfolio manager specializing in advisory and discretionary investment management. The company provides personalised investment management to IFAs, private clients, companies, charities and trusts.[1]

Rowan Dartington employees 90 people in the South of England and is an independent company owned by management and staff.[2] Rowan Dartington's head office is based in Bristol. The company operates four other locations in London, Chichester, Hereford and Weston-Super-Mare.[3] Rowan Dartington also operates under the trading name of Signature (wealth manager).[4] This operation supports intermediaries and their clients and provides discretionary portfolio management.[5]

History

Rowan Dartington was established in 1990. The company was subsequently purchased by Corporate Synergy (since renamed Astaire Group) in 2006. In 2010 the company was fined £511,000 by the Financial Services Authority for failing to, "adequately protect and segregate client money." The Financial Services Authority stated the failures took place between May 2007 and September 2009.[6]

Rowan Dartington is now a wholly owned subsidiary of RD Holdings Limited, which purchased the company from Astaire Group in March 2011.[7][8] RD Holdings is owned by a consortium of private investors and existing Rowan Dartington staff. Graham Coxell led the company buyout, assuming the role of CEO following completion of the deal.[9]
