Three interconnecting stories set along the eponymous road (also known as Lincoln Highway) in South Central Pennsylvania.
Some poker players hope to solve their financial woes with film footage of Bigfoot.
A Hollywood writer (David DeLuise) moves to the country where his muse turns out to be a swearing, hard-drinking Amish woman (Dana Delany) who misses her rumspringa days. He establishes a community theater where he stages a musical about Jennie Wade, the woman killed during the Battle of Gettysburg, which was fought nearby.
The character of Original Bill is based on the director's father, Bill, and his community theater. The elder Putch was the husband of actress Jean Stapleton and teacher of actresses Shirley Jones and Sada Thompson.[2]
