Rorgon I or Rorico(n) I (also Rorgo or Rorich; d. 16 June 839 or 840) was the first Count of Maine of the Rorgonid dynasty, which he founded. He was Count of Rennes from 819 and of Maine from 832 until his death.
He was a son of Gauzlin I and Adeltrude.
He was a retainer at the court of Charlemagne, with whose daughter Rotrude he had a sexual relationship. The couple had at least one illegitimate child, Louis, who became chancellor to his cousin Charles the Bald. They may have had an illegitimate daughter named Adeltrude, who married Gerard I of Auvergne.
Louis the Pious conferred on Rorgon the countship of Rennes in 819. In 824, he founded the Abbey of Saint-Maur de Glanfeuil. Rorgon married a lady named Bilichild, and had three sons named Rorgon II of Maine, Gauzfrid of Neustria and Joscelin, Bishop of Paris.
He also had a daughter who married Bernard of Poitou.
The necrologies of the Abbey of Saint-Denis gave the date of his death, but did not specify a year.
