Ronnie Martin
Ronnie Martin is an American musician best known as the sole member of the synth-pop outfit Joy Electric, one of the few remaining major bands to model its music after classic electro-pop.[1][2] His other works include:
- Dance House Children (a relatively unknown techno/house group composed of Martin and his brother Jason, who went on to form Starflyer 59)
- 2 Ladds (his first effort, also featuring Jason and friend Randy Lamb)
- The Brothers Martin (a pop rock collaboration with his brother Jason)
- The Foxglove Hunt (formed with Rob Withem from Fine China)
- Shepherd (rock side-project)
- Ronald of Orange (acoustic-synthpop side-project)
- Said Fantasy (a group formed in 2009, based out of Ohio)
He is also the founder and previous owner of the electronic music label, Plastiq Musiq.
Martin is an analog purist, meaning he uses only analog synthesizers such as the Moog Rogue and sequences in his music. He is a self-proclaimed Christian and appeared in the movie Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?.
Ronnie Martin is currently the Worship Arts Pastor at Ashland Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, Ohio.[3]
