Ronald Milner

The Rt Rev Ronald James Milner was the Bishop of Burnley[1] from 1988 until 1993.[2] He was born on 16 May 1927 and educated at Hull Grammar School and Pembroke College, Cambridge [3] before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with the post of Succentor at Coventry Cathedral, after which he was Vicar of Westwood.[4] Following this he was Rector of St Mary's, Southampton and then (his final appointment before elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Lincoln.[5] In retirement he continues to serve the Church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
