Robert Trefusis
The Rt Rev Robert Edward Trefusis was the inaugural Suffragan Bishop of Crediton from 1897[1] to 1930.[2] Born in Bideford on 24 January 1843, he was educated at Cheltenham College[3] and Exeter College, Oxford. Ordained in 1866,[4] he began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy in Buckingham. He was then Vicar of Chittlehampton[5] before a 33 year stint as Suffragan Bishop of Crediton.[6] He died on 9 July 1930.[7]
