Robert Sherborne

Robert Sherborne[1] (born Rolleston-on-Dove[2], died 1536) was bishop of Chichester, from 1508 to 1536.

Sherborne was Dean of St. Paul's, from 1499 to 1505[3]. From 1505 to 1508 he was bishop of St Davids[4].

Sherborne was a patron of the artist Lambert Bernard, commissioning several series of murals from him.[5]. He founded the Free Grammar School in Rolleston, around 1520[6]. It continued to 1909[7].
