Robe, Bale

Robe is a town in south-central Ethiopia. Located in the Bale Zone of the Oromia Region, this town has a latitude and longitude of with an elevation of 2492 meters above sea level. It is the administrative center of Sinanana Dinsho woreda.

Robe shares Robe Airport (ICAO code HAGB, IATA GOB) with neighboring Goba, from which Ethiopian Airlines operates flights to Addis Ababa. The market day is Thursday. Notable landmarks include the Sof Omar Caves, which lie to the east.[1]

Records at the Nordic Africa Institute website provide details of a primary school in Robe in the year 1968.[1]

Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this town has an estimated total population of 38,481 of whom 19,290 were males and 19,191 were females.[2] The 1994 national census reported this town had a total population of 21,516 of whom 10,462 were males and 11,054 were females.
