Olivier's early career began relatively successfully, as he compiled a 3–0–1 record in his first year of competition.[1] Olivier faced the likes of Bendy Casimir and Jean Silva (defeating Casimir, but losing to Silva).[1]
Prior to joining Cage Rage full time, Olivier's record stood at 7–5–1.[1]
Olivier's Cage Rage debut came at Cage Rage 7 against Samy Schiavo. Olivier won via rear naked choke.[1] After a further win outside Cage Rage,[1] Olivier faced Dave Elliot at Cage Rage 9, winning via KO due to a slam.[2]
Over a year later, Olivier faced Chris Freeborn at Cage Rage 14. Freeborn stepped up at short notice after Olivier's original opponent, Brad Pickett, pulled out.[3] Olivier was the clear aggressor throughout the bout, but Freeborn survived to a judges decision. Olivier took the decision comfortably and later called out original opponent and Cage Rage British Featherweight Champion Brad Pickett.[3]
Olivier's challenge was met and he faced Pickett for the Cage Rage British Featherweight Championship. The fight went to a judges decision. Sherdog.com scored the bout two rounds to one, in favour of Olivier; however, this was not to be the case in the eyes of the judges, who awarded Pickett the win, allowing him to retain his title.[4]
Olivier next faced Mark Chen and dominated him, forcing a rear naked choke victory in the opening round.[5]
At Cage Rage 18, Olivier rematched Brad Pickett, once again, for the Cage Rage British Featherweight Championship. Olivier was successful on this occasion after controlling the fight. The opening round saw Olivier take Pickett down numerous times, as Pickett struggled to get back to his feet. After the second round repeated that pattern, the two fighters entered the third round. In that round, Olivier was able to lock in a rear naked choke at the three minute mark.[6]
Following that title win, Olivier was rewarded with a Cage Rage World Featherweight Championship shot against Masakazu Imanari. Olivier was embarrassed by Imanari, however, who won via flying armbar after only 27 seconds.[7]
Olivier's next fight was at Cage Rage 22, against top domestic prospect, Ronnie Mann. The fight saw both fighters neutralise the others' ground game due to the equal talents of both. In the stand-up, Mann was regarded as being unusually tentative, which gave Olivier the opportunity to take him to the floor, where again, neither fighter was able to advance position or do anything of note. After three rounds, Olivier was declared the winner via unanimous decision and he retained his Cage Rage British Featherweight title.[8]
Olivier then moved up to Lightweight, where he faced Abdul Mohamed for Mohamed's Cage Rage British Lightweight Championship. After a fast paced start, the majority of the fight ended up being against the fence in a less-than-exciting stalemate. Olivier lost via majority decision.[9]
Olivier then defended his Featherweight Championship once more against Ashleigh Grimshaw at Cage Rage 27. Grimshaw spent the opening round throwing unusual combinations, however, the second round saw Olivier take Grimshaw down before securing a rear naked choke.[10]
His final appearance in Cage Rage was at Cage Rage 28, the final Cage Rage event. Once again, he defended his British Featherweight Championship against the veteran Leigh Remedios. Olivier dominated on the ground and won the first round after ground-and-pounding Remedios. In the second, Remedios attempted a superman punch, but was countered with a hook, which opened up a big cut. Olivier went on to dominate the rest of the bout and defended his title, thus becoming the final Cage Rage British Featherweight Champion.[11]
Following almost a year-and-a-half out of competition, Olivier returned to face Pat Curran in Exeter. Curran, the future Bellator Season Two Lightweight Champion, won the fight via unanimous decision.[12]
Olivier then faced Michael Pastou for Pastou's UCMMA Lightweight belt. After two rounds, the fight ended prematurely, due to a fan riot.[1][13]
Olivier was next schedueled face unbeaten Mark Adams for Adams' BAMMA Featherweight Championship.[14] However due to snowstorms in the UK the event was cancelled.
