Rob J Hyndman (born 2 May 1967) is an Australian statistician known for his work on forecasting. He is Professor of Statistics at Monash University[1] and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Forecasting.[2] In 2007 he won the Moran Medal from the Australian Academy of Science for his contributions to statistical research.[3]
Hyndman grew up in Beechworth, Victoria and moved to Melbourne at the age of 15. He studied statistics and mathematics at the University of Melbourne, graduating with first class honours in 1988. He completed his PhD at the same university in 1993.
He is a member of the Christadelphian church and managing editor of the BibleQ website.[4]
