Rice Township is one of twenty-three townships in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 306[1]. It was formed as Washington Township from East Galena Township on February 22, 1859; its name changed to Rice Township on June 16, 1859.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, Rice Township covers an area of 29.74 square miles (77.0 km2); of this, 24.43 square miles (63.3 km2) (82.17 percent) is land and 5.3 square miles (14 km2) (17.84 percent) is water.
