Rex Ryon (April 5, 1953 — April 19, 2005), sometimes credited as Rex G. Yon,[1] was an American film and television actor.

He was born Rex Yon in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rex graduated from the Baylor School, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1971. While attending Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, he appeared in community-theatre productions in Chattanooga and Nashville and later, Houston, Texas, while attending the University of Houston there.
Between 1981 and 2002 Ryon appeared in twelve films and thirty-one television productions,[1] primarily in character roles including appearing in a guest role as Rough Looking Guy #1 in the episode "The Tortelli Tort" (1982) on the situation-comedy television series Cheers. He also made guest-role appearances on television programs including Remington Steele, Matt Houston, and Mama's Family.
His final acting appearance was as Det. Sgt. Joe Dexter in the crime-thriller, drama film Malevolent (2002).
Ryon died, age 52, in Los Angeles, California.
