Retraction (kinesiology)

Retraction is the anatomical term of motion for posterior movement of the arms at the shoulders. It is the opposite of protraction. Major muscles involved include: ^[1][2]

• Rhomboid major muscle
• Rhomboid minor muscle
• Trapezius muscle
