Reid ministry (New South Wales)

The Reid ministry (New South Wales) was the 28th ministry of the Colony of New South Wales, and was led by the 12th Premier, the Right Honourable George Reid, PC, QC, LL.D, MLA.

Reid was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in 1880, serving until 1884. Reid was re-elected to the Assembly in 1891 and assumed leadership of the Free Trade Party following the retirement of Henry Parkes. The ministry covers the period from 3 August 1894 until 13 September 1899[1][2] when Reid resigned in order to focus on ensuring adequate provisions were made for New South Wales in the federation of the Australian colonies into a Commonwealth.[3]
