Redondo Beach is a Los Angeles County Metro Rail station on the Green Line. Located on Marine Avenue in Redondo Beach, California, it is the western terminus of the Green Line.[1] The station platforms are situated above Marine Avenue. It is the western terminus of the line. The original name for this station was Marine/Redondo and it may still be used in some places. The station was rebranded as Redondo Beach station in 2005, when the station signs were changed on the platform and on street level.
The Crenshaw Corridor will also serve this station when that project is completed (expected in 2016 or 2018).
The station is notable for its appearance as the light rail station in the opening montage to the 1995 film Heat.
