Red or Dead is a fashion designer and manufacturer, started in London in 1982 by Wayne Hemingway and his wife Geraldine Hemingway. They manufacture products such as shoes, spectacles, bags and watches.
The company's name (Red or Dead) comes from Wayne's Red Indian ancestors. One Saturday morning in 1982, Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway opened a stall on Camden Market, London to sell items from their wardrobes. Before they knew it their one stall had expanded into sixteen stalls of second hand clothes, purchased from all over the world, and the Red or Dead brand was born.
From here, Red or Dead expanded their product base from shoes and today the brand is multi-category, including footwear, clothing, optical frames, swimwear, "glorious gussets" hosiery, and fashion bags, with fragrance and fashion bicycles in the pipeline.[1]
