Red Shirt (Ógle Lúta c. 1845 – 1925) was an Oglala Sioux warrior who served in the capacity of chief at two Sioux peace delegations to Washington in 1870 and in 1880.[1] He was officially appointed chief of the Oglala at the Pine Ridge Agency in 1878. Red Shirt was born near Fort Fetterman in Wyoming. Red Shirt was not present at the Battle of the Little Bighorn fought on June, 25 and June 26, 1876 in Montana. In 1887 he toured with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in the United States and in Europe.
