Raphael Chegeni is a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Tanzania.
Dr.Raphael Chegeni is an Accountant and Finance Speacialist with a Doctorate in Business Administration from University of Strathcylde, UK. He is Regional Chairperson of The Great Lakes Parliamentary Forum on Peace (AMANI Forum)[1], East Africa Chapter Representative on the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank, Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Tanzania Branch. He is a member of Chama Cha Mapinduzi - CCM, the governing party in Tanzania. Dr.Chegeni is a Co-President on the Council of Parliamentary Network for Nuclear Disarmament as part of the Middle Power Initiative [2]. In 2004, he joined the Parliamentarians for Global Action

In an effort to tackle the challenges of his constituency, Dr. Chegeni works both in politics as a dynamic and sober politician and through an local NGO in his region. He has been the chairman and founder of Community Development and Relief Agency (CODRA TANZANIA) since it was founded in 2001. CODRA is a non-governmental organisation which works with the poor or marginalised sections of society, to help them achieve sustainable socio-economic growth. Projects include providing safe and clean water supplies to villages, education, health, good governance education to district leaders, entrepreneur and micro-credit support. CODRA is now registered and represented both in UK and in Seattle in Washington State, US. CODRA has been receiving funding and support from different foreign governments, organizations, multi-national and national companies, Institutions and Individuals from the Scandivanian, Canada, UK, US and Japan, South Africa, Ireland, Standard Chartered Bank, Tanga Cement, Songas, Goat Race Charity to mention a few.
