Rangat is one of 5 local administrative divisions of the Indian district of Andaman, part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

It is a division known locally as a tehsil, roughly equivalent to a county in its range of administrative powers. It is located in the Andaman Islands.

Rangat is 210 km from Port Blair and 70 km south of Mayabunder. Rangat is well connected by road and sea route. Daily boat services are available between Port Blair and Rangat Bay (Nimbutala Village) via Havelock and Neil Island. Road journey between Port Blair and Rangat is via Kadamtala and Baratang bay. To cross each bay the vehicle has to be transported over a ferry boat (locally called as vehicle fery) to reach the other end of road.

Rangat's population according to 2001 Census of India figures was 38,824 and consists mainly of Bengali and Tamil population.

Panchavati water fall/beach, Amkunj beach and Betapur beach are nearby places to visit. Cutbert Bay Beach (20 km) away from Rangat bazaar/jetty) is a turtle nesting ground (December to February). Government owned Guest house Hawksbill Nest is near to the Cutbert bay beach and Turtle sanctuary.
