Rafael Morais (born 25 June 1989) is a Portuguese actor.

Personal life

Morais was born in Portugal, to an antique restorer mother and a contractor father. He was raised in Lisbon, being accepted into one of the first and more prestigious acting schools in Europe. At the age of eighteen Morais attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in Hollywood. Morais speaks fluent English, Portuguese, French and Spanish. His twin brother Edgar Morais is also an actor.

Career

At the age of 18, Rafael Morais was cast as the lead in the feature film How to Draw a Perfect Circle, directed by Marco Martins, receiving several awards at different film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, Mar del Plata Film Festival, European Film Awards, among others. More recently, Rafael Morais can be seen in Blood of My Blood, directed by Joao Canijo, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival and receiving several awards at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, among others.

Morais was also cast as Raffa in Chasing Eagle Rock directed by Erick Avari (in post-production) and as Joao in Matthew Mishory's Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean also in post-production.

Theater

Morais made his stage debut in William Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Mirita Casimiro Theater in Lisbon in 2006. He's appeared in many theater productions since including Sarah Kane's Phaedra's Love, Brian Friel's Lovers, Jean Genet's Deathwatch and Arnold Wesker's The Kitchen.
