Rýmařov
Rýmařov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈriːmar̝of]; German: Römerstadt) is a town in the Bruntál District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It has a population of 8,856 as of 25 Mar 2010.
History
The town Römerstadt (Rýmařov) was established by German immigrants in 1278.[1] In December 1930, the town had 6,108 inhabitants. On May 17, 1939, there were 5,859 inhabitants, and on May 22, 1947—4,230 inhabitants. About 98% of the town's population were German-speaking. However, because of the Beneš decrees of 1945 the entire German population, with few skilled workers, was forcibly deported to Germany and Austria. Today the town is overwhelmingly Czech-speaking.

Sights
- Chapel of the Annunciation, also known as local chapel in lipkach very important Baroque building local architect Friedrich Höslera the years 1711-1915. Inside, paintings painted by Ferdinand Naboth and Johann Christoph Handke. Nearby is a statue of Our Lady of Victory from 1774 and the Group Crucifixion's work from 1812.
- Town Hall - a monumental structure with elements of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical Castle - a protected archaeological site, previously there was a small redoubt, now there is a geological exposure
- St. Michael the Archangel Church - a Gothic church, later rebuilt
- Parsonage - a valuable Renaissance building from the sixteenth century, before the top office.
- Statue of Virgin Mary Immaculate in the vicinity of the parish (the statue originally stood in the park in a crumbling castle in the Janovice. It was moved to Rýmařov at its present site in 2010).
- Calvary - on the left side of the road from the Rýmařov Bruntál
- Column with a statue of the Virgin Mary - Olomouc Baroque statue sculptor Franz Leblose in 1683, located in the western part of the main square. The column was erected at the expense of Maria Elisabeth Richtensteinové in memory of the plague epidemic that struck Rymarov in 1680. The statue has undergone restoration in 1993.
- Statue of St. John of Nepomuk - sculptural work by Severin Tischler in 1736.
Museums
Municipal Museum in Rýmařov. A museum with rich collections tracing the history of the region from the earliest prehistoric settlements to the first half of the twentieth century. Major collections are also on the development of mining and weaving, the two most prominent branch of this area. The permanent exhibit of the exhibition is also rich geological mapping of rock composition field. The museum also operates the Octopus Gallery .
