Qian Nai-rong ((Chinese):钱乃荣, [zɪnɛjoŋ]) was born in 1945[1] in China. He received a Master's Degree in Chinese Literature from Fudan University in 1981. He is a Professor of Chinese Language and Literature in Shanghai University where he is also the head of his department. He is the most senior researcher and popularizer of Shanghainese,[1] a dialect of Wu Chinese.
