Pyro Desktop[1] is a new type of desktop environment for Linux built on Mozilla Firefox. Its goal is to enable true integration between the Web and modern desktop computing.[2][3][4]

Pyro was announced during GUADEC 2007 and is developed by Alex Graveley and Chris Toshok.

Pyro uses the capabilities of dynamic HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SVG, and Adobe Flash and they are all available applications. It features live window switching implemented in pure Javascript [1]. Pyro uses a compositing window manager
