Pyhäjoki is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Oulu and is part of the Northern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 3,396 (31 January 2011)[2] and covers an area of 1,365.31 square kilometres (527.15 sq mi) of which 823.25 km2 (317.86 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 6.26 inhabitants per square kilometre (16.2 /sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Fennovoima, a Finnish nuclear power company, plans to build a nuclear power plant at Pyhäjoki. The power plant would be operational in 2020.[6]
